Privacy Policy — Souq Sort

Souq Sort (Arabic name: دكان جدّي) is a free puzzle game published by JoSequal Technology ("we"). This policy explains what the game collects, why, who receives it, how long we keep it, and the choices you have.

What we collect

• A random player identifier created by the game on first launch. It is not your phone's hardware ID. Our servers keep only a scrambled (hashed) copy, and we give you a player number. On iPhone the identifier is also kept in the device Keychain, so reinstalling the game brings your progress back.
• Gameplay data: levels played, wins and losses, stars, coins, decorations, play time, in-game events, app version, platform and language.
• What you choose to add: an optional nickname, the names of groups you create, which groups you belong to, and your weekly league points. Your nickname and points are shown to other players, and a group's name and members are shown to that group. If you are in a group, the layout of the shop you edited last is shown to the members of your groups, unless you choose another shop or turn that off. Please do not use your real name.
• Reports and blocks: the names you report and the players you block.
• Technical data: crash reports, performance and diagnostic data, and a notification token if you allow notifications. Our web servers process your IP address to run the game and limit abuse. These logs rotate automatically and we do not link them to your player profile.
• If you email us, your email address and message, which we use only to answer you.

We do not ask for your real name, email, phone number, contacts, photos or precise location, and the game has no chat.

Advertising

The game is designed to show ads through Google AdMob. Ads may be off at times, for example before launch. When ads run, Google may collect your device's advertising identifier, approximate location from your IP address, and how you interact with ads, in order to show and measure them. In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, you are asked for consent first and can change your answer at any time under Settings → Privacy choices. On iPhone you can refuse tracking when asked, or later in the phone's Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking. On Android you can delete or reset your advertising ID in the phone's settings. Ads in the game are limited to content suitable for a Teen rating.

Analytics and crash reports

We use Google Firebase Analytics to understand how the game is played and Firebase Crashlytics to fix crashes, with your player number attached so we can trace a problem. In the places where consent is required, Analytics stays off. Gameplay events also reach our own servers so we can balance levels and run the league.

Notifications

Notifications are optional. The game asks after you have played a little, and you can turn them off under Settings at any time. Firebase Cloud Messaging delivers them.

Purchases

The game offers optional in-app purchases. Apple or Google processes the payment, and we never see your payment details. Our purchase partner RevenueCat validates receipts and tells us which items you own, using a random purchase ID that is not your player number. A purchase belongs to your store account, so Delete my data does not remove it: RevenueCat and we keep the purchase record, for accounting and so that you can restore it, but not your progress or nickname. If you restore on a second device, we link the two players so that your purchases work on both, and Delete my data removes that link.

Who receives data

We share data only with the service providers named above, Google (AdMob and Firebase) and RevenueCat (purchases), and with Cloudflare, which carries the game's traffic to our servers and protects them from attacks. They process it under their own terms, which require protection at least equal to this policy. We do not sell personal data.

Where data is stored and how it is protected

Game data is stored on our servers in the European Union. Google and Cloudflare may process data in other countries under their own safeguards. Data travels encrypted (HTTPS), identifiers are stored hashed, and access to our servers is limited to the staff who run the game.

How long we keep data

• Your progress, nickname, league scores and group memberships: until you delete them, or until two years after you last opened the game.
• In-game events: 180 days. Level results: 12 months.
• Purchase records: 7 years, for accounting.
• Reports: 12 months after we close them.
• Crash reports: 90 days. Analytics: up to 14 months.
• Emails to support: as long as needed to answer you.

Your choices and rights

• Delete your data: Settings → Delete my data removes your progress, nickname, league results and group memberships from our servers at once. If you no longer have the game, email us your player number, shown in Settings, and we will do it within 30 days.
• Reset your progress: Settings → Reset progress starts the game over on your phone and on our servers.
• Change or remove your nickname: edit or empty the field on the league screen and save.
• Withdraw consent: Settings → Privacy choices, or the phone settings described above.
• Hide your shop from your groups: turn off Settings → Family groups can see my shop, or open a shop and tap the family button. A change made offline applies once you are back online.

You may ask us for a copy of your data or to correct it. Residents of Jordan have the rights set out in the Personal Data Protection Law No. 24 of 2023, and residents of the EU and UK have the rights set out in the GDPR, including the right to complain to a data protection authority.

Children

The game is intended for players aged 13 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has used the game, contact us and we will delete the data.

Changes

We will update this page if our practices change, and show the new date at the top.
